What is The Lakes in Blaine? by Rachel Scarrella

The Lakes is a comprehensive planned residential community consisting of 1080 acres in Blaine, MN.  Conveniently located just north of the Twin Cities, The Lakes is designed to conserve the topography and trees on which the development is built.  Clusters of Oakwoods and wetlands surround the residential homes and open spaces.  The east side of the developments also backs up to 65 acres of preserved wetlands.  The development consists of 36% parks and open space.  The trail system boasts 15 miles of pedestrian paths, 4 miles of bike paths and 2 miles of regional trails.
